strength as younger people who exercise? Also, that older people are capable of handling
high-intensity exercise?

The West Australian (1 May 2012) recently published an article by Leah Fogliani highlighting
the benefits of exercise for seniors. According to Lifelong Fitness exercise physiologist,
David Beard, some of these include:

Staying fit so you can keep doing the things you have to do (or want to do)

Maintaining good brain function

Reducing the risk of dementia and mental decline

Feeling more confident and in control

Regulating your appetite

Improving your mood

Sleeping better.

A great form of exercise for people of all ages is walking. For seniors the benefits are even greater:

You strengthen your bones

You improve your balance

You reduce the chance of falling.

So don’t let getting older be your excuse for doing less. Exercising daily becomes even more important
as we get older. One hour of physical exertion can make a big difference to the other twenty-three hours in
each day. It’s a small price to pay for all-round improvements in health, happiness and energy.

“I have 30 years experience as a masseur, I trained in London in the 80’s. I have massaged in
health spas in Europe and run private practices in both New Zealand and Australia.”

It is hard to categorize massage as it is something that evolves with experience and time, but I guess my
massage would best be categorized as Swedish massage using trigger point and deep tissue massage techniques.

I offer 50 and 80 minute sessions at $80 and $120 respectively. Currently, bookings are available Monday
– Thursday from 12 noon – 3pm.
